Di-XL – a sustainable model of cooperation between libraries and lifelong learning organisations

The main goal of the international project (Di-XL Dissemination and eXploration through Libraries) was to develop efficient and sustainable dissemination and use of knowledge created as part of lifelong learning courses. The specific objectives of the project were:

  • Identifying barriers in cooperation between lifelong learning institutions and libraries, which mainly refers to the dissemination and use of knowledge.
  • Proposal of a sustainable model of cooperation between libraries and lifelong learning organisations.
  • Testing this model in 5 countries.
  • Improving the knowledge and skills of librarians for the dissemination and use of knowledge created as part of lifelong learning courses.
  • Dissemination of the proposed model across Europe.

 

The project consortium consisted of seven partners from five European countries. This was the first time BCL participated in an international project in the field of lifelong learning.
