Information literacy: family package – computer courses for unemployed persons
The project consisted of the introduction of a new library service – a set of courses in information literacy aimed at unemployed people and people who have recently lost their jobs, as well as their immediate family members.
The goal of the project was to increase the information literacy of these persons to increase their chances of finding a job; that is, it raises the entire family’s educational level and qualitative capacity. At the same time, the project introduced a new library service, following world trends.
The courses took place in the form of interactive practical workshops and involved the active application of previously acquired knowledge. The courses were adapted for three groups of participants: adults (unemployed), children of school age and youth of high school age. They were implemented by librarians, instructors, or IT engineers.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the National Employment Agency, Belgrade branch.
